Though a major chunk of Vellarimala lies in the Wayanad range, a significant portion is a part of the Thamarassery range in Kozhikode.
A trekking adventure through this amazing locale is considered to be one of the hardest in Kerala, yet an experience of a lifetime. You can take a dip in the cool streams that flow down from the hills. The tallest peak in this range is called the Vavul Mala, which towers at an altitude of 2339 metres. The peak is also the tallest in the Western Ghats, north of the Nilgiri Hills.
