If there is one natural resource that all living beings including humans are indebted to the most, it is water. Without water, there is no life. That is why water conservation is one of the most important missions of our times. It is important to know that every drop counts. This message is clearly conveyed in the Water Museum & Biopark in Kozhikode.
An initiative of the Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM), this museum & biopark is located at Kunnamangalam in Kozhikode district. The centre enshrines and pays tribute to water, which is the most crucial natural resource available. There are displays in this centre depicted in the form of sculptures, pictures and still life.
For this, CWRDM sought the help of experts such as painters, sculptors and other artists who painstakingly delivered these works of art using clay, hay, plastic, plaster of Paris, waste materials etc., for an important cause. All these highlight the all-important motto of saving water. The museum depicts various traditional ways in which local people used water. There are also references to various important projects in Kerala and the role water played to make them a reality.
